Round 1 - Race Report
Anticipation was high this week with the first round of the very popular Revoslot GT series. A series which was originally a hand out car, and in the beginning was quite a gamble from what I remember.
The Revoslots hadn’t been out very long back in those days and early reports of them were indifferent with the noisy gear mesh, rattling chassis & hard tyres among the things being picked on by pundits in other parts of the world.
However, push ahead with the series we did….and what a brilliant decision it has turned out to be. What we’ve ended up with is car that with very little work, can be competitive, quick & very rewarding to drive for even the new kids on the block.
And with this series, the 4th so far, introducing a few new models to the field, there was much interest in seeing how everything panned out.
First thing to notice was the sheer proliferation of new McLarens in the field. It looks as if the bandwagon has been jumped on before the band has even got to the stage of the roadies setting the amps up! The wiseness of this decision will be played out over the next 7 rounds. The other new cars in the series, the Lister Storms, were not quite as popular, however there were 2 intrepid drivers who decided to break away from the popular crowd & give these a go. The rest of the field were quite predictable with the tried & true Marcos again a popular choice, along with a smattering of Supras & Porsche GT2s.
It appears there is no-one brave (or foolhardy) enough to run a Ferrari F40.
So, of the original 4 handout cars, it is only the Viper which has vanished without a trace. It will be left entirely to Rob Golley on his return to see if he can resurrect this now forgotten marque.
On to the racing…….& wow!
Marshalls were quickly reminded of how rapid these cars are compared to the previous series, and had to bring their best reflexes to deal with anything that came their way…….let alone the drivers!
Immediately we were also given a reminder of how things panned out in the previous (2023) series. Callan & Bruce trotted out the same old cars that had dominated last time & proved that nothing much had changed with their Marcos & Supra once again finishing in the top 2 positions. Callan took yet another win with his total of 127 laps. An ominous sign as he is yet to lose a round in the class over the last 7 rounds he has actually participated in. Bruce’s tried & true yellow Supra is the most understated (some might say boring) of all the Revoslot liveries, but proved still as quick as ever by racking up 126 laps and taking out 2nd this week.
It was left to Adrian to fly the flag for the newly debuted models, his Lister was obviously very quick , but some occasional offs meant that the best he could do was 125 laps for a solid 3rd pace in round 1. Plenty to like about the car though, and much room for improvement. The first of the McLarens was next in line with Phil coming out on top in a big 3 way battle on 120 laps for 4th -6th. The other 2 drivers involved, myself in a Lister & Schoee in another McLaren finished 5th & 6th on track position.
JB was one who brought along his old Marcos & it performed very well as usual, his 118 lap total grabbed him 7th place, ahead of DBs Supra in 8th on 116 laps.
115 laps was shared between Ben (another McLaren) & Rhys running a Porsche GT2, however it was Rhys who just took 9th ahead of Ben in 10th this week.
In 11th was a very excited Blair as he showed immediate enthusiasm for this class of car and was also quite quick at times in his Marcos. His 112 laps was 3 laps clear of 12th place Dave Gray in another of the Marcos’s on 108 laps.
Rounding out the night were the father son duo of Thomas & Samuel. Tom driving the striking looking new McLaren racked up 106 laps & Samuel in the Porsche GT2 drove very respectfully & had minimal de-slots on his way to 86 laps.
A great start to the new series overall, with the older cars hitting the ground running early on. However, there was enough evidence from the new models to suggest that improvements might be possible over the series .

Round 2 - Race Report
2 Rounds down in the Revo GT series….and some very concerning trends have emerged.
The last time this series was run all 7 rounds were won by a driver with the name Thomas……and sadly Males wasn’t their 2nd name. No, it was either Callan or Bruce who had a lock on 1st place in the 2023 series.
So, with Bruce taking out round 2 this week after a win from Callan last week, this disturbing similarity has other drivers very nervous early in the series.
In fact, it was Bruce & Callan sharing most laps this week with 112, but Bruce (Supra) taking the place on track position in a very close result from Callan (Marcos) in 2nd.
Once again it was Adrian in the Lister who was best of the rest racking up some very quick lap times (in the 5.8 sec range) on his way to 110 laps for another 3rd place result.
4th place & 4 laps off 3rd was Phil in the McLaren, with the Lister of yours truly in 5th 2 laps back on 104. In fact places 3-5 were exactly the same drivers & order as in week 1.
DB showed some good improvement this week in the Supra to grab 6th with 102 laps, 2 laps ahead of a 2 way battle for 7th between Caine, in the first outing for the Viper in the series, and Rhys in the raucous Porsche GT2. Both drivers notched up 100 laps, but it was Caine who took 7th ahead of Rhys in 8th.
JB’s Marcos finished in 9th on 99 laps, with Dave Gray (Marcos) & Dave Schofield (McLaren) tied on 97 laps apiece in the battle the top 10. Dave Gray was eventually declared the winner of this result on track from Schoee in 11th. Blairs Marcos was next in line with his 96 laps claiming 12th, ahead of Thomas Males in 13th on 90 laps in the McLaren. Ben had some handling issues in his own McLaren & his total of 84 laps saw him finish in 14th, with Samuel dropping in again to rack up a very good 82 laps and end up in 14th place.

Round 4 - Race Report
In what seems like no time we’re up to round 4 of the Revoslot GT series, and over the halfway mark it’s already developed into essentially a 2 horse (car) race.
The traditional sight of Callan & Bruce dominating this class in the past shows no sign of changing this series either, and this week, in his most dominant display of the series, Callan found the extra grip on JBs track very much to his liking. In his 3 heats of 25, 25 & 24 laps Callan posted a grand total of 2 flying laps that were not under the 6 second mark….and I marshalled one of those ☹
74 laps saw him take top spot easily by 3 laps, and allowing for the shorter heat time it was a dominant performance. Bruce as usual drove a perfectly consistent batch of heats & his total of 71 laps was enough to once again take out 2nd.
2 back on 69 laps was the now traditional sight of a Lister Storm finishing in 3rd behind Callan & Bruce. However, it wasn’t the traditional Lister Storm of Adrian this week as a slight disaster for Adrian in heat 3 saw the 2nd Lister driver (myself) elevated to 3rd this week.
Adrian was still quick enough to grab 4th on 68 laps to minimise too much damage to his overall series results.
A great battle for 5th & 6th was fought out between Rob & Ben with both driving great brackets of 67 laps. It was Rob who took the track position however from Ben in 6th.
In 7th, and just 1 lap back on 67 Phil was all on his own, but with more two way battles being fought out behind him.
The first of these was between DB & Rhys for 8th & 9th on 64 laps each. DB won this on track however.
Next, we had JB & Blair both on 63 laps fighting it out for 10th. This one couldn’t be separated however as both finished on exactly the same bit of track at the end of their heats.
61 laps was the total shared between Dave Gray & Dennis Murray in the race to 12th, and it was Dave who ended up with the advantage from Dennis in 13th.
And finally, the last 2 way battle was a right royal one between the father & son duo of Samuel & Thomas on 56 laps each. This week it was a very good drive from Samuel that saw him take the bragging rights for the week and grab 14th spot on track over Thomas in 15th.
Just 1 lap back in 16th Luke’s total of 55 laps was a solid effort all round.
